“Shark River, a nod to 1970s road films, is equal part road movie, equal part love story. The movie tracks a young couple making their way to New Jersey after an ill-fated trip north to marry. Along the way they are guided by an anonymous radio DJ who provides scraps of information as well as a playlist for them to drive to as they stare down the possible collapse of the American Dream, and their life, as they know it.”
